about founder

Rebecca Smith is the founder of A Heart for Housing, where she helps individuals and organizations create structured housing programs that lead to real, lasting change. As the founder and executive director of R.E.S.T.O.R.E., she has developed transitional and independent housing for justice-impacted women, supporting over 100 women as they rebuild their lives.

Her work has given her firsthand insight into what it takes to build housing that goes beyond shelter by creating programs rooted in structure, accountability, and support that lead to long-term success.

This work is personal for her. While she has not experienced incarceration, she has walked through seasons where she needed support, guidance, and community. Those experiences shaped her belief that the right environment can change everything.

Through A Heart for Housing, Rebecca is passionate about helping others create spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow. When the environment is right, transformation is possible.
